What it takes to earn one

There is no time minimum and no expiry. Finish fast and you hold it early; finish slowly and it is worth exactly the same. What it can never be is bought.
How an employer checks it
They type the credential ID into one field. No account, no login, no cookie banner between them and the answer. It takes about ten seconds. Verification pages are kept out of search results, so a certificate can be checked by someone holding the ID and not stumbled upon by anyone else.
